Scholarship awardees of the SeaGate Law Enforcement Foundation
by Cav. George L. Greco
As the chairman of the SeaGate Law Enforcement Foundation, I am honored to recognize four extraordinary young individuals for their outstanding achievements. Each of these young people participated in a scholarship essay contest on the topic, “What does the Second Amendment mean to you?”
All these talented individuals have demonstrated their commitment to excellence not only through their essays, but also through their involvement in various after-school programs. They have worked as lifeguards, participated in the school drama club, interned for State Sen. Andrew Lanza, served as camp counselors, and engaged in altar service. Notably, some of their fathers are members of law enforcement, reflecting a legacy of public service.
Each essay submitted was a minimum of four pages, single-spaced, and exhibited a high level of detail and thorough research. As a father of two young ladies myself, I understand the pride the parents of these bright young people must feel. These four talented individuals are undoubtedly cut from the fabric of “The Best and the Brightest.”
The total amount of the scholarships awarded was $6,000. It is with great pleasure that I announce the winners of the scholarship: Erin Westgate, Benito Moneta, Dimi Artale and Serafina Matarazzo. Congratulations to our scholarship winners.
I also would like to extend my gratitude to all the SeaGate Foundation members and supporters who attended our sport clay shooting soiree on June 7, 2024. The event was highlighted by an incredible performance by the lovely and talented American Bombshells, who entertained us all with their show. Thank you.
Additionally, I would like to recognize the following individuals for their contributions and support: Ed and Paula Rytter; Board members: Ignazio Artale and Gary Giolombardo; Assistant: Patricia Piexo; and Mr. Perry Iannocone.
