“To support the men and women who serve our communities, provide assistance in times of need, and strengthen the organizations and causes that make a meaningful difference.”
Founded in 2012 to support the Sea Gate Police Department and its members, the Sea Gate Law Enforcement Foundation has provided more than a decade of financial assistance, equipment, resources, and community support. As SGLEF enters its next chapter, the Foundation is broadening its reach while remaining committed to assisting members of the Sea Gate Police Department when eligible needs arise.
Our Story
Founded to Serve. Continuing to Evolve.
The Sea Gate Law Enforcement Foundation was established in 2012 after Luigi Moneta, then a patrolman with the Sea Gate Police Department, approached George Greco about creating a foundation to benefit the Department and its members.
With the assistance of attorney David Jensen and members of the Sea Gate Police Department, the organization was formally established as a nonprofit corporation in New York. Among the Foundation’s earliest efforts was providing assistance following the severe damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.
Over the years, SGLEF funded more than $200,000 in equipment, benefits, resources, and other forms of support for the Sea Gate Police Department. These contributions also helped reduce expenses that otherwise would have been borne by the Sea Gate Homeowners Association, including more than $30,000 reimbursed directly to the HOA in 2025.
Today, SGLEF is entering a new chapter. While its formal relationship with the Sea Gate Police Department has ended, the Foundation intends to continue considering eligible requests for assistance on behalf of SGPD patrolmen while expanding its efforts to support the broader law-enforcement community, charitable organizations, public-service initiatives, and other deserving causes.
